Through mindful travel experiences (yatras), gatherings, and storytelling, we weave new relationships across cultures, nature, and ourselves.

Watsumugi Journey is not just about arriving at a destination — it’s about how we walk, what we weave along the way, and how we return home transformed.

about the founder

Romy | Hiromi Iwase

Born in Tokyo in 1980. I grew up in Yokohama and New York. Graduated from Sophia University Faculty of Law, Department of International Relations Law. Since childhood, he has been attracted to performing arts such as music, plays, and dance, and has been active as a narrator/belly dancer and lecturer since his 20s. Expressing is still an important part of life.

With the 2016 move to Kamakura, we shifted to a lifestyle that was in harmony with the rhythm of nature. Interest in social issues has deepened, and while working on waste reduction activities, permaculture, and non-violent communication, the way of life and society has been questioned.

in 2024NGO Peace BoatBoarding as staff on a cruise around the earth. From 2025EARTH COMPANYAs a marketing manager of this, he is involved in creating a regenerative future.

At the same time, ‘WATSUMUGI’ started ‘Travel of Watsumugi’. In addition to planning the learning journey, the story is based on the story of the awareness gained from various cultures and encounters with people.

Learning from the cultures and people that you have encountered while traveling around the world, reconsidering your own roots, and looking for a way to live together. At the root of the activity is the thought of ‘celebration of life ~ Blessing of Life ~’.
